UCE or Other "SPAM"

We regret that some individuals who lack maturity and sufficient respect for others engage in the practice of "spamming". This may take many forms, such as sending unsolicited commercial emails, repeated or off-topic postings to fora or blogs, or distribution of abusive or insensitive materials electronically. We strongly dislike and disapprove of all forms of "spam".

We never engage in any practices that could be classified as "spam". Our hosting provider is one of the most serious anti-spam campaigners on the internet and you may be sure that spam from clients is not tolerated.

We employ various anti-spam measures to protect ourselves from "spam". We are prepared to take very active measures against purveyors of "spam" should it be necessary.

Web Standards

We believe in identifying best-practice standards and adopting them whenever possible and sensible. The web is a very dynamic environment. Currently there is a major transition underway moving towards adoption of standards we have already implemented.

We have developed our content to conform to XHTML and CSS standards. At present the components of the content management system (CMS) that we use for this site does not fully comply with the W3C standards. Unfortunately this means that visitors with older or poorly programmed browsers will not enjoy the benefit of more attractively styled pages and fully compliant browser software may identify minor problems with the code. However, the content of each page will still be clear and accessible and meaningfully laid out.

We consider the benefits of a standards compliant site to far outweigh the style disadvantage to some visitors. We benefit significantly in terms of site maintenance. All visitors benefit from leaner, faster loading pages. Effectively, we are attempting to engineer the site for the future rather than building with last century’s technology.

We will continue to work on achieving a fully W3C standards compliant CMS.
