Now with a headline of "Maximizing Vitamin Value" many may think that I am going to promote some sale or specially priced opportunity to purchase my favorite supplement. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you. What I have to say here applies universally.

When I talk about value I am concerned with price I suppose, but that is actually a secondary consideration. Ultimately it is greatly impacted by the issue I want to mention, but indirectly.

My concern here is with health supporting effectiveness of the vitamins you consume. Many of those vitamins will, ideally, come from the foods you eat. Some more will come from the supplements that you are already hopefully taking. The question really is, are they providing maximum value to you?

Some people who take water soluble vitamins become worried that they are simply flushing money away because the vitamins pass through them so quickly. Unless they are taking grossly excessive doses for their individual needs, this should not be a concern. The water soluble vitamins, B and C, don’t last very long and need to be taken every day if possible.

For vitamins to be passed out of the body after being filtered out of the blood in the kidneys, remember, they have first travelled in the bloodstream to every cell in the body. Essentially therefore we can assume that the cells needs have been met before any excess was filtered out.

What may be passed out is not directly my concern here either. So what gives rise to my question about maximizing value?

It is the effectiveness of the absorption of the vitamins in the first place and then their access to the cells when in circulation in the blood. Without recourse to scientific measurements let’s just keep this quite simple.

To maximize the absorption of vitamins from food and oral supplements you need to ensure excellence in you gastrointestinal function. If your bowel doesn’t permit optimal absorption then clearly you cannot maximize the value you derive from the vitamins.

Equally, or at least similarly, at the cellular level, if there are less than optimal conditions it simply makes cellular nutrition less effective. Again, you then cannot maximize the value obtained from vitamins (or any other nutrients).

Obviously you don’t want to waste vitamins or other nutrients for your health’s sake and nor do you want to waste the effectiveness of whole food and supplements for your wealth’s sake.

For this significant reason among others, it may be worth considering an herbal cleanse. Suitable ones that are of the highest quality and avoid commonly included less than ideal herbs may be found by clicking the above link, but if you can find other assured quality sources then by all means use them.

A little internal cleansing now and then can be of tremendous benefit. In helping to optimize your assimilation of vitamins and other nutrients it quickly pays you back in health and wealth.
